The best way is to schedule an appointment to come here to Woodstock, Ontario and have your feet measured here in the shop. However that may not be convenient, or even possible, as you may be across the country or continent! No Worries! Watch an excellent short video here by EDEA boots, which conveys the basic fundamentals of achieving a proper foot tracing...

Here are the instructions for measuring:

  • Place the paper on a hard surface
  • Stand on the paper barefoot
  • Your feet should be shoulder-width apart, knees slightly flexed
  • Your weight should be on the foot to be traced
  • Get a friend to trace that foot. The pen must be upright
  • Both feet can be traced on the same page - (for larger sizes you can trace along a diagonal to the paper and criss/cross the tracings to fit both feet on one sheet)
  • On the tracings, mark the middle of the heel
  • Then mark the total length from heel to toe (it might not be your “big toe”)
  • Measure and write the length in millimeters for both feet
  • At the widest point measure and write down the width
  • Take a picture (or scan) of your measuring sheets which shows both full feet, with measurements written on the longest and widest points.
  • Email that along with additional details below

And, if you can add these details below in your email, it will help greatly in determining your ideal skating boot size:

  • Age, height and weight of the skater - particularly important when fitting for chilldren or youth
  • Usual shoe size in US mens or US womens in an athletic or running shoe - include width: Narrow, Medium or Wide?
  • Skating level of the skater - beginner, intermediate or advanced?
  • Current model and size of the boot or skate you currently use if applicable
  • Any issues with current boot?
  • What brand/model of boot are you most interested in?
  • Do you use orthotics or other insert?
  • Where are you located so we can provide a timeline for turnaround, and shipping info (if applicable)
